Small businesses, academia, and government officials involved in emerging technologies gathered January 24-26, 2023, at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas for Innovation Industry Days. This gathering, sponsored by AFWERX and the Air Force Installation Mission Support Center (AFIMSC), provided networking opportunities and educational sessions for attendees.
The three-day event offered training sessions on navigating the Department of the Air Force (DAF) and innovation ecosystem, as well as interacting with technology developers, academic institutions, government acquisition professionals, and private investors. DAF officials explained funding sources, such as the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs and the Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI) and Tactical Funding Increase (TACFI) programs. The event also provided a forum for industry to present their capabilities to government, academia, and other members of industry.
