This authentically restored National Historic Landmark proudly serves as her State’s World War II Memorial to the 11,000+ North Carolinians who made the ultimate sacrifice. The Battleship North Carolina participated in every major naval offensive in the Pacific theater of operations during World War II, earning 15 battle stars.
Moored across from historic downtown Wilmington, the Battleship welcomes visitors to tour the ⅓ of the ship open to the public. The other ⅔ of the battleship serves as a federally approved tactical training site for diverse defense and law enforcement training purposes.
